Some of our recent blog topics include:
Spice Up Your Frozen Vegetables
Depending on the time of year, it isn’t always possible to grab fresh produce from your garden, or it just isn’t convenient to rush out to the market. In those times, we turn to frozen vegetables. We enjoy freezing our chili peppers, which work great for preserving them through the winter, but freezing is great for a large variety of vegetables. Freezing helps to preserve the nutrients of the vegetables without affecting flavor like other preserving methods might do.
Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Sauce with Strawberries and Jalapeno Peppers
We had a great weekend recently working on our new cookbook that focuses heavily on jalapeno poppers and other stuffed chili pepper recipes. One of the best things about stuffed chili peppers is the pairing of the sauce. Oftentimes the sauce will make the meal, or at least it will help it stand out from the crowd.
Jalapeno Jelly
We just received an email from a reader who has made our jalapeno jelly recipe. We thought we’d share.
A Spicy Grilled Corn Recipe
We enjoyed a backyard barbecue this week and since corn is in season, we’ve been trying to get as much of it as possible. Corn is always outstanding on the grill. Half the time you don’t even need to season it. You just grill it up and eat. We decided to have a little fun with our grilled corn this time by rubbing it down with habanero powder, brushing it with a spicy garlic mayo, then rolling it in crumbled cheese. The result? Bliss.
A Salsa Trifecta – Salsa Recipes Fresh from the Garden
In honor of the launch of our Salsa-Madness.com web site, where we explore the fun and creative process of salsa making, we raided our garden for chili peppers, tomatoes and more and whipped together a few batches of fresh salsa.
Pasta Primavara - A Garden Delight!
We love to garden and oftentimes you’ll find, as a gardener, that your garden can sometimes overproduce. Such a terrible problem, isn’t it? We never really have a problem because we also love to build meals that incorporate a large number of vegetables.
Grilling Safety
We love grilling so much, we even dedicated an entire Grilling Time Cookbook to the subject. If you have a hankering to fire up the grill, it is important to do so safely to avoid any accidents.
