Turkey Black Bean Chili
Ground turkey and black beans make an interesting and flavorful variation on the classic black bean chili favorite.
Ingredients
- 3 (15 ounce) cans black beans, undrained
- 1 (14.5 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 habanero pepper, chopped
- 1 small white onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoon dried oregano
- 2 tablespoon dried basil leaves
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
Cooking Directions
- Heat a large pot to medium heat and add onion, garlic, and habanero with olive oil. Cook about 4-5 minutes, or until the vegetables soften.
- Add turkey and cook until meat is browned. Stir often.
- Stir in remaining ingredients.
- Reduce heat to low, cover and simmer 60 minutes or more, until flavors are well blended.
