Coffee Cured Filet Mignon - Madness Style

We used to get a meal like this at our favorite steak house, but now that we're having fun in our own kitchen, we don't need to leave the house for a phenomenal filet mignon. This recipe marinades our steaks in seasoned coffee, then wraps them up in bacon and broils them to perfection.
Ingredients
- 2 8-ounce filet mignon steaks
- 1 cup coffee, cooled
- 2 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 tablespoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 4 strips bacon
Cooking Directions
- Add steak to a plastic bag or shallow dish, and add coffee, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon red pepper flakes, garlic and soy sauce. Mix.
- Refrigerate at least 4 hours, and up to over night.
- Preheat oven to broil.
- Remove steaks and discard marinade.
- Rub each steak with remaining red pepper flakes and chili powder. Rub it in good!
- Wrap each steak with 2 slices of bacon and broil to desired doneness. Please see this steak cooking times chart for cooking times.
- Serve!
