Looking for a low calorie breaded shrimp or prawns recipe? Here is our version, baked instead of fried in oil, and with plenty of chili powder for an added kick. Dip it in spicy chili sauce for some extra flavor, but don't forget to count that into your calories.
Ingredients
1 pound prawns, peeled with tails on (about 20 prawns) (240 calories)
2 large eggs (120 calories)
¼ cup all-purpose flour (120 calories)
2 tablespoons chili powder (0 calories)
1 cup Panko bread crumbs (220 calories)
Cooking Directions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a medium mixing bowl, beat the eggs thoroughly.
To a separate bowl, add flour and chili powder. Mix well.
Dredge prawns in flour mixture then dip in eggs.
Dip prawns into Panko bread crumbs and press the crumbs in.
Lightly coat a baking dish with spray oil and add covered prawns.
Bake 20 minutes.
