Mussels Steamed with Chili Powder

Mussels are so incredibly easy to steam. You just pop them into a pot and let it go. The key is flavoring the liquid. In this case, we've added plenty of garlic and chili powder to the mix for a wonderful flavor. The oil will help the flavors stick to the mussels.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds mussels
- 1 cup white wine
- 5 teaspoons chili pepper oil (or olive oil)
- 3 teaspoons chili pepper powder
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
Cooking Directions
- Clean and soak the mussels
- In a large pot, add wine, oil, chili powder and minced garlic. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to simmer.
- Add mussels and cover. Steam about 5 minutes, or until the shells open.
- Serve!
