Chili Pepper Product Reviews
Gringo Valley Mild Pepper Salsa
My First impression
The label isn't the best of labels, though it isn't terrible. The colors are enjoyable, but something about the layout of the peppers doesn't quite work for us. Not that we're overly focused on the label, but it does affect a first impression. But, it's clean, a good layout, and the salsa inside looks nice and chunky and inviting.

Appearance/Smell/Taste
After popping off the top, you're greeted with a wonderful aroma, if somewhat familiar if you're a fan of traditional salsas. This is not a bad thing. There is something about plenty of chili peppers, tomatoes and spices that makes our mouths water, and this did the trick. Excellent aroma. It smells pretty much the same as the Original 10 Pepper Salsa.
The color is good, though it might have been a touch more red, perhaps with a new balance of tomato? We wouldn't say color was bad in any way, though, just more of a preference for something a tad more vibrant.
The flavor was very good, though we do prefer a bit more kick to our salsas. We understand that it is a "mild' salsa and don't want to judge unfairly on this, but we should note that sometimes even a slight bit of heat does typically add to the overall salsa experience. We thought the jalapeno heat might assert itself even just a little, but alas, this salsa is incredibly mild.
We served ours chilled with traditional corn chips and it went over well with the group. If you're a salsa lover but prefer no heat whatsoever in your salsa, this would most likely satisfy.
The Party
We took our salsas to a small New Year's Eve celebration and allowed our friends to sample it along with the Original 10 Pepper Salsa. These were not chili heads, but your average salsa lovers.
Some of them preferred the mild version to the 10 Pepper version, though they remarked the flavors were comparable, differing primarily in heat levels.
This is a good salsa, but as we prefer a least a little bit of heat, we can't rate it as highly as the 10 Pepper Salsa, though we expect you will enjoy the overall flavor of the 7 chili peppers.
