Baked Salmon with Cajun Lemon Butter
A recipe for salmon fillets seasoned with a Cajun blend, served with melted butter and lemon. Highly flavorful and easy to prepare.
Baked salmon, baby. You already know we LOVE salmon around here. What can I say? It’s one of our very favorite fish! I typically purchase a large 3 pound cut and slice them into serving sizes then freeze them.
Salmon is super easy to work with, cooks up evenly, and stands up to a lot of flavor profiles, especially spicy chili peppers or Cajun seasoning blends.
So! That is the direction I’ve gone, a painfully easy baked salmon dusted with a Cajun blend, then finished off with a mixture of butter and lemon juice.
Truly, it is a highly flavorful combo. I keep using the word “easy” because it is. Just get the oven going, season up the salmon fillets, bake, then top off with the lemon butter and parsley.
You could probably have your meal ready in 20 minutes. Maybe you can use it on “Chopped” for the appetizer round. I could never win that show. I take way too long in the kitchen. I digress…
I served this up with some quick spicy roasted broccoli with jalapeno peppers that you can see in the upper corner of the photo above.
Obviously we were going for a lower calorie dish. Just don’t go CRAZY with the butter. However, you can serve up salmon with any number of side dishes. Like I said, salmon goes with so many things.
Pass the salmon, please. Cajun Lemon Butter. YUM.

- 2 6- ounce salmon fillets
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 teaspoons Cajun seasonings
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon minced parsley
Heat oven to 350 degrees.
Brush salmon with olive oil then season with half the Cajun seasonings, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Get both sides.
Set into a baking dish and bake 12-15 minutes, or until cooked through to your liking.
When salmon is nearly done, melt butter in a small pan and swirl in lemon juice and the remaining Cajun seasonings.
Set salmon onto serving plates, top with butter and parsley.
