Mike's Sweet Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound chicken chopped
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper chopped
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 can beer of choice
  • 8 ounces tomato sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 tablespoons chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground cumin
  • 6 beef bouillon cubes
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate
  • Hot sauce to taste a few splashes will do
  • 1 teaspoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon cornmeal
  • 1 tablespoon warm water

Instructions

  • In a large pan, brown beef and chicken together, about 2 minutes.
  • Stir in onion, jalapeno and garlic and cook until onion and jalapenos are tender.
  • Add remaining ingredients except for flour, cornmeal and tablespoon of warm water. Mix well.
  • Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1-2 hours.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal and tablespoon of water. Mix.
  • Pour into chili and stir.
  • Cover chili and cook an additional 20 minutes to thicken.
  • Serve!
