Mike's Sweet Chili Recipe

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound chicken chopped
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 small jalapeno pepper chopped
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 can beer of choice
- 8 ounces tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 3 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 6 beef bouillon cubes
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 ounce semi-sweet chocolate
- Hot sauce to taste a few splashes will do
- 1 teaspoon flour
- 1 teaspoon cornmeal
- 1 tablespoon warm water
In a large pan, brown beef and chicken together, about 2 minutes.
Stir in onion, jalapeno and garlic and cook until onion and jalapenos are tender.
Add remaining ingredients except for flour, cornmeal and tablespoon of warm water. Mix well.
Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 1-2 hours.
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cornmeal and tablespoon of water. Mix.
Pour into chili and stir.
Cover chili and cook an additional 20 minutes to thicken.
Serve!
