Screenplays First. Stories That Wouldn’t Die.
Before I started writing novels and short fiction, I spent years developing screenplays - tight, high-concept thrillers and horror scripts designed for the screen. Some of those have been produced. Some came close to getting made. But the ones that stuck with me the longest, the ones that wouldn’t let go, are finding a second life here, as stories in print.
I write fiction with the pacing and punch of a great movie. Dark, intense, and emotionally sharp. If you enjoy a slow-building dread or a sharp twist of the knife, I’ve got something for you.
Latest Work - Blood Red Sky, a Novella
When the sky bled fire and something terrible fell from the heavens, Davey Samsa knew the world had begun to change. What he didn't know - what none of them could know - was just how deep that change would go, and how close to home it would strike.
Summoned by their cold and enigmatic matriarch to the crumbling family mansion in the Adirondacks, the fractured Samsa siblings return to the one place they swore they'd never see again. For Karly, a cynical survivor marked by trauma, it’s a reluctant homecoming. For Marjorie, caught in a vicious custody battle, it’s an unwelcome escape. And for Mick, the smooth-talking older brother with too much bravado and not enough soul, it’s a pit stop on the way to the next deal.
But Davey, troubled, fragile Davey, knows there's something terribly wrong with Mother.
She doesn’t sleep. She mutters in strange tongues. Her once-sharp eyes burn with an eerie hunger. And behind the triple-locked door to her mysterious workroom, something… waits. Dead animals with too many limbs prowl the woods. Whispers fill the air after midnight. And the memories that once haunted the Samsas now seem to be crawling back with teeth.
As the siblings spiral into paranoia, old wounds crack open and reality bends around the edges. Mother claims everything is fine. But the garden is dying, the animals are sick, and the line between human and not-human is wearing thin.
Is this madness? Grief? The long shadow of childhood trauma?
Or is their mother not their mother at all?
Blood Red Sky is a slow-burning descent into familial horror - a Southern Gothic by way of Adirondack rot, where emotional scars fester like open wounds and something monstrous slouches just beneath the skin. Tense, lyrical, and disturbingly intimate, this novella peels back the mask of motherhood to reveal a nightmare underneath.

Squeal, a Novella
Synopsis: When siblings Jake and Maggie are forced to move to a secluded farmhouse with their dysfunctional family, they discover strange supernatural forces at work. Maggie and Jake attempt to communicate with these forces, only to realize something terrible has been awaiting them all. --- A Novella form of Mike's original screenplay, "Squeal", which was sold and produced as the feature film "Blood Harvest", starring Jason London, Robert LaSardo, and Simon Phillips.
