It is time for chicken wings, yet? I say it is! We're always ready for some good chicken wings in the Chili Pepper Madness household. I'll take them any way I can get them - baked, fried, grilled, roasted, breaded, naked, you name it!
Chicken wings are always a hit, especially because you can dress them up with whatever sauce you're in the mood for.
Today I'm in the mood for the perfect combination of spicy and sweet, so we're making Honey-Sriracha Chicken Wings, and I know you're going to love them.
You can cook up your wings any way you'd like, though I include recipe directions for how to bake them or how to grill them.
These are perfect for game day, backyard barbecues, or just for yourself! Honestly, chicken wings are great anytime, like right now!
Let's talk about how to make honey-sriracha wings, shall we?

Honey Sriracha Chicken Wings Ingredients
The full ingredients list with measurements is listed in the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post.
- FOR THE CHICKEN WINGS
- Chicken Wings.
- Baking Powder. This helps draw the moisture from the skins, resulting in crispier wings.
- Seasonings. I'm using smoked paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. You can use your favorites. Try it with my homemade Cajun seasoning blend.
- Vegetable Oil. As needed.
- FOR THE HONEY-SRIRACHA SAUCE
- Sriracha. Use your favorite brand, or try my homemade sriracha recipe.
- Honey.
- Soy Sauce.
- Rice Vinegar. You can also add a splash of lime juice or lemon juice for a citrus pop.
- Garlic Powder. Or use fresh minced garlic.
- Butter.
- Salt. To taste
See my honey-sriracha sauce recipe for further notes.
How to Make Honey Sriracha Wings - the Recipe Method
PREP THE WINGS
- Dry the Wings. Pat the wings dry with paper towels and set them into a large bowl.
- Season the Wings. Rub the wings with the baking powder and blend of seasonings.
- OPTIONAL: Set the wings into the refrigerator for at least 1 hour to allow the skins to dry further. This will give you crispier skins.

FOR BAKED CHICKEN WINGS
- First Bake. Heat oven to 250 degrees F. Set the chicken wings in a single layer onto a lightly oiled baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes. Alternatively, use baking or parchment paper to keep the wings from sticking.
- Second Bake. Increase oven heat to 425 degrees F. Flip the chicken wings and bake another 30 minutes, or until the wings are cooked through and the skins are nice and crispy.

FOR GRILLED CHICKEN WINGS
- Grill the Wings. Heat a lightly oiled grill to medium-high heat and grill the wings for 20 minutes, flipping the wings once half way through, until golden brown. Keep an eye on them so the wings do not overcook.

FOR THE HONEY-SRIRACHA SAUCE
- Combine the Ingredients. Whisk together the sriracha, honey, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and salt to taste in a small pot over medium-low heat.
- Simmer the Sauce. Simmer for 3-4 minutes to let the flavors combine.
- Whisk in the Butter. Gently whisk in the butter until it melts through and the sauce thickens slightly.
- Glaze the Cooked Wings. Brush the wings with the sauce and enjoy!
Boom! Done! Your honey-sriracha wings are ready to serve. Don't these look fantastic? Let's dig in! I'm hungry! Somebody grab the hot sauce.

Recipe Tips & Notes
- Brining the chicken wings isn't a requirement for the recipe, but I do recommend it if you have the time. Brining in a saltwater solution helps the wings retain moisture within, and also results in wings that are more tender. See my grilled chicken marinade, or try my spicy BBQ chicken marinade recipe for big flavor.
- Prefer to air fry your wings? Try my Air Fryer Chicken Wings recipe. Works great every time! Grab the air fryer basket!
Storage
Leftover honey-sriracha wings will last up to 5 days in the refrigerator in a sealed container. You can warm them in the microwave, or in the oven to enjoy them again.
That's it, my friends. I hope you enjoy my honey-sriracha wings recipe. Let me know if you make it. I'd love to hear how it turned out for you, and if you decided to spice it up!

Hoping to make these delicious looking wings tonight! Quick question, when exactly do you incorporate the tablespoon of vegetable oil? Is this just used to grease the baking sheet or do you rub the wings with it along with the spice mix? Thanks!
Mike Hultquist says
Hi, Jackie. It's for oiling the baking sheet or grill. Enjoy!!

Hey Mike, My wife and i love your chicken wings. I want them with the sauce carmalized on the wings and my wife prefers no sauce just seasoned with the spices recommended. Either way they are a winner!
