Guntur Sannam Chili Peppers

Capsicum Annuum

The Guntur Sannam chili is grown in and around Guntur and Warangal in the state of Andhra Pradesh in India. It is an extremely important cash crop in that area, and the livelihoods of thousands depend on a successful harvest. Its popularity spreads throughout the world.

Guntur Peppers

It is mostly used as a condiment, a culinary supplement, or a vegetable.

    Guntur Sannam Chili Peppers! So many hot hot pepper varieties, sooo little time!
    Hey Mike, not that there isn’t enough on your site already, but I wonder if you might update this note from 2013 and mention a few of your Indian ( or other) recipes that these would be good in, and/or a few suggested alternatives.I think these are the peppers a friend from Andra Pradesh uses for his Hot curries and condiments like tomato pickle.
    Love all that you do.
